Sportscover Europe confirm new CEO appointment

Sportscover are pleased to officially announce the appointment of Martin Crannis as Sportscover Europe Ltd’s CEO following the granting of approval by the Financial Conduct Authority last month.

Martin has been in position as Sportscover Europe’s CEO designate pending regulatory approval and since taking up the role has been working with the global Sportscover team on a number of new business initiatives and has been planning for the relocation of Sportscover Europe’s London office which took place last week.

On 13th July Sportscover Europe moved its London headquarters to 75/77 Cornhill, London EC3V 3QQ. Martin has an impressive pedigree and extensive experience in business development across Europe, Asia, the Americas and South Africa. Most recently he was one of the founders of Betterway Ltd., pioneers of using contingent life style event products. In his career he was Managing Director of Maiden Life where he led the reinsured customer credit related insurance programmes in Europe, Asia, Canada, Central and South America. This led to the incorporation of a Life Insurance company based in Stockholm, Sweden underwriting protection products across the European Market.

Martin also spent 11 years with Cardif Pinnacle in the UK in a number of senior roles, most notably as the Business Development Director responsible for sales and marketing and also as International Director responsible for operations in Scandinavia, Germany, South Africa and Ireland.

Martin holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Management and is a Fellow of two industry institutes. He has an active interest in a diverse range of sports including skiing, sub-aqua (qualified PADI Dive Master and Master Scuba Diver), windsurfing, running, golf and is currently learning to kite surf, which will add to the extensive array of sports already being represented within the existing Sportscover team. He is also a massive rugby fan and long term supporter of Saracens.
